No matter which type of gadget do you use nowadays, it must have a WiFi facility for wireless connectivity. WiFi Protocols make secure connection for your device. The most updated two protocols are - WPA2 and WPA3
WPA2( Wi-Fi Protected Access, Version 2):
Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) is a security standard designed for devices with wireless internet access such as mobile devices. WPA is the successor to the older Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) security protocol, which encrypted all the data being transferred over a wireless connection for security.
WPA3 ( Wi-Fi Protected Access, Version 3):
The Wi-Fi Alliance has announced WPA3, a new standard of Wi-Fi security features for users and service providers.WPA 3 is more advanced technology in security protocol management.
Advantages:
- The WPA3 standard will use a new handshake, which won’t be vulnerable to dictionary attacks.
- WPA3 will also feature a 192-bit security suite aligned with the Commercial National Security Algorithm (CNSA) Suite
- It is designed to provide a simple way for public and guest WLANs to be encrypted and secure without the need for a personal VPN
Disadvantages:
- This Technology is not stable yet as it is still in development.
